SimplePie + Magpie = NeoPie

NeoPieI have recently started to build a site that uses MagpieRss, then I switched to SimplePie because it seemed to fetch Atom better, although I actually like elements of both a lot. Much to my surprise when I tried to look at the SimplePie functions documentation today I was met by not the information I wanted but this statement:

What do you get when you take the two best PHP-based feed parsers and merge them together? Introducing NeoPie. We’re in the process of merging our teams, our code, and our websites. This website will soon be shutdown, and content will be merged into magpiephp.com. Please follow that website for all future development.

Unfortunately it does not look like I can read up on the SimplePie functions and the MagpiePHP page helpfully is just displaying “coming soon…”. I guess I will have to wait until “soon”.

Dammit, I got played: “Hope you all enjoyed the April Fool’s joke! SimplePie is back to normal! :)”

Dude skis down escalator

Gent skis down Angel tube station’s escalator, apparently it is the longest in Europe. This of course has lead me to find the longest escalator in the world, which is located at the Park Pobedy station in Moscow.

Opened in 2003, these escalators are 126 m long and take nearly three minutes to transit.Wikipedia

Awesome.

Stick a camera to a geek and follow him around San Fransisco. Why? Because we can. Internet does not get any better than this.
