Hack your stuff
It is strange how these days companies make their products with “fewer” features. You have to hack them to make them more useful.
In the old days Sony would have jumped at the chance to add more features to a Walkman, more features used to mean more sales and higher prices. And we all know what happened to the Walkman when they made it less useful.
Pretty soon you probably won’t even be able to put non-DRM MP3s onto your iPod. There will be a black market for 1st gen iPods because they are more useful.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation fights to protect freedom and creativity in the digital world - they have a list of extinct and endangered gadgets here. Don’t let them take away our right to do more.
